Storyboards

Our initial storyboards had a very ambitious light to them, but gave us a great idea for what we wanted our project to start out as.

Style Frames

Our style frames for this project gave us a good handling on how the coloring would be handled, and what our finished product would hopefully end up looking like.

Character Design

These character designs went through a few different processes before becoming the finished designs we see here, but we used these character sheets to easily pick out our colors during the animation process.

Second

Production

Voice Acting, Animation Tests, Animatic, Lip Sync

Voice Acting

Voice acting was done in a recording studio with three lovely voice actors. We recorded each of their lines in only three different audio files, that way we wouldn't have to be rummaging through a large amount of files. In AE, we color coded the files and then cut and pasted the lines we needed in specific scenes. For the process of the lip sync, the method Asa used was drawing out the individual mouths that would be used in a specific scene and then editing the mouths on the characters in after effects.

Animatic

Our animatic helped us drastically with setting the timing for the entire project and helping us decide what scenes were necessary and which ones we could cut. This also helped us with deciding a workload that would be achievable with the time frame we were given for the project.

Third

Editing

Compositing, SFX, Rendering

Compositing

We used a google drive to keep track of any important files, and also to easily send files to one another without obstruction of quality. After effects was used to composite the technicalities of the scenes together, and then using Adobe Dynamic link we we able to easily finish off in Premiere.

SFX

Lastly, music and all other SFX not already in AE was added in premiere. Using the Audio Mixer it was easy to keep track of audio clips and sync them together when needed. There was a bit of trouble with the dynamic link audio which included the voice acting, so we eventually ended up just exporting the WAV file from ae and importing it into premiere. The music was recorded by our lovely music producer and then edited in premiere.
